Merging content from two large institutions into one cohesive user experience

Saint Joseph’s University worked with Digital Wave® to help migrate and merge 6,500 pages of content from their current website and the University of the Sciences web presence as a result of a merger of the two entities. In order to accommodate the tight timeline and large volume of content, we took a phased approach that prioritized enrollment-driven content selected to achieve institutional goals and planned for lower-level content integration and improvements in future phases while ensuring users could find what they needed throughout the transition. In addition to the content migration effort, the Digital Wave team worked with SJU to provide user experience, information architecture, development, and design support to create and improve components and site trappings where the content and strategy dictated a need to extend the existing Drupal protocols and functionality. Digital Wave continues to work with SJU on consultation and planning to support their future project phases.

Our work with SJU has included:

  • Compressed yet comprehensive research & discovery – including content and UX assessments
  • Functional requirements gathering
  • SEO and accessibility review and recommendations
  • Content planning, prioritization, writing/editing, migration, and QA
  • Component mapping, design, development, and build-out to enhance site UX and branding
  • Site launch support (Drupal CMS)
  • Ongoing consultation and support
