Before Radford University's web site redesign, online viewers had little idea of the beauty of the campus or the academic opportunities on par with the big-name universities in the area. Radford's online presence had evolved into a disparate collection of individual sites lacking in navigation, content presentation, branding, or integrated look and feel. Their home page attempted to guide people to the various entities, resulting in a bulletin board appearance that overwhelmed the original personality and messaging.
Digital Wave introduced standards that could be applied to the main university information, with templated approaches to creating microsites in a way that improved consistency while allowing individuality to resonate with the audiences of the university's various departments, schools, centers and programs. Digital Wave helped Radford create content themes to emphasize the university's people and location, determined through discovery to be its greatest perceived assets.
Through discovery work and information architecture strategy, Digital Wave helped Radford reposition its web site to immediately represent its character, location, and wealth of educational offerings, and to do so through the eyes of its students.
