The American Board of Internal Medicine certifies internists and subspecialists that exhibit high standards of knowledge, skills and attitudes critical to the provision of excellent health care. With over 185,000 current certifications, one of ABIM's most important ongoing goals is to maintain communication with its considerable network of physicians, and to keep them informed, educated and empowered in respect to maintaining their certifications in internal medicine and its subspecialties. The Board's web site offers a tremendous volume of informative and useful content, but also needs to be very focused in guiding physicians through process related to their certification status. Digital Wave worked with ABIM to introduce a task-based architecture that quickly guides users through the processes of maintaining and renewing their certifications, with online help tools and personal profiles to help track their activities and certifications. Digital Wave provides ongoing support to the Board and the ABIM Foundation.
